How will my organisation's demographic impact on future sales?

Have you ever looked at your organisation demographically?  Run the statistics on how many are in each Generation.  The 'Builders' were born 1925-1945; The 'Boomers' were born 1946-1964; Generation X were born 1965-1978; and Generation Y were born between 1979-1995.  Within the next few years it is likely that your top end demographic (your Boomers and Builders, if indeed you still have those left) will be retiring.  What are you doing now to ensure that you have succession built in to your relationships with clients, suppliers and the transfer of wisdom across generations?  What would be the direct impact on sales revenue if you didnt start to think about this until it was too late?

How did Obama connect and win with Generation Y?

Obama won the 2008 US Presidential election with our generation because: his story had ‘viral’ quality (and we passed it round); He gave Generation Y a vision (and asked for their support to achieve it).  He gave them ownership for achieving it (and used social media incredibly well to create a dialogue) with this voter demographic. Oh, and did we mention that behind every successful president is a 27 year old speech writer?

We recently wrote a paper on this - if you'd like to read about it in more detail please click through here.

How can we educate today's leaders about tomorrow's mindset?

You're leadership team is managing a workforce that is of a different generation, and therefore different mindset.  Perhaps you're challenge is convincing them of the adoption of new technology to speed up communication or distribution of news through the web.  Maybe it's that the loyalty of individuals in Generation Y seems to have shifted from 30 years (the Baby Boomers) to as little as 18 months.  We can give you the source reasons why these behaviours have become intuitive for our generation - and back it up with hard data, facts and examples.  Our way of doing this is not powerpoint based, and it can be done anywhere.  Click here to read more.

Is the grass greener on the other side?

We don't think so!  On average we reckon the grass isn't greener on the other side, it's greener where you water it.  What does that mean?  Research shows that many Generation Y dont job-hop because they want to, it's just that they can't visualise a future in your business.  This is a product of the times.  Companies aren't transparent.  At Naked Generations we have mapped the psychological contract between an individual in Generation Y and the Organisation they work for.  What this allows us to do is show HR Directors/ managers the key breakpoints in the relationship between the two parties and thus pre-empt these.  In this way organisations are able to save hundreds of millions of pounds by reducing attrition and showing employees how they can progress in their career with their organisation.

Should we allow access to Social Networking Sites?

Have you ever taken a piece of paper and multiplied the number of staff you have by the number of people they are connected to globally?  How many products/ services that you sell day-to-day are endorsed on these social networks?  At your finger tips is a free user-endorsed brand marketing powerhouse that in most cases isn’t being used.  If expectations are clear around deliverables and timescales are monitored for progress then we see no reason to shut down social networking sites.  For more on this topic read our 'Professional Networkers' blog.
